Euro Cup 2008 is quickly approaching, so show your team spirit and host a “football” party. From June 7th – June 29th, Switzerland and Austria will be hosting a series of games between 16 of Europe’s leading soccer teams competing for the Henri Delaunay Trophy. So whether you celebrate through out the tournament or make it a one time party, kick it off with these sporty iParty ideas and tips.
What’s it all about?
Euro Cup has been a tradition since 1960, occurring every four years between the World Cup. Even though United States and Brazil do not qualify for this tournament, it’s still vastly popular through out the world. As a result of winning the Euro Cup, the qualifying team will move on to play at the 2009 FIFA Confederation Cup in South Africa.
Starter
Invite friends to watch and celebrate Euro Cup 2008. Feeling creative? Make trading card invitations with the party details on the back. Have fun with it and tell guests to wear a soccer jersey to represent their favorite player and give your guests a National Pride rubber bracelet, available at iParty, to support their favorite team. You may not be at the game, but you can still have fun like you are!
Team Spirit
Who will you be routing for this June? Whether it’s a certain player or a team that you follow, iParty has all-star party invitations, table covers, paper goods, and other sporty party supplies to complete your party needs. Or kick it up a notch and choose your favorite team’s colors and add items in a soccer theme like foil soccer balloons, soccer banners and soccer razzmatazz centerpieces.

Score Big
Games can run long, so plan tasty party snacks and finger foods for your guests. Keep it simple and make nachos, popcorn party mixes, a variety of cold cut subs and pasta salad. For a playful treat, cookies or cupcakes decorated like soccer balls will indulge your guest’s sweet tooth. What you eat should be just as fun as the time you are having!
Match
Before the game starts, get everyone together for a kids vs. adult’s game of soccer or set up soccer relays and award the winners with iParty’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons.
Goal!
Children love party bags. iParty has great soccer favor boxes and party bags that you can stuff with candy, plastic soccer ball whistles, sports pencils and mini vinyl soccer balls. This will keep the kids amused for hours.
Game Over
Want to celebrate your team’s victory? Celebrate with jumbo string confetti, hand clappers and stadium horns. Who says you have to be a kid to enjoy these fun items?
