FUN Backyard BBQ Games

Egg Toss

What you’ll need
1 raw egg for every two people
Large open space

Directions:
Everybody picks a partner
Partners face one another, about 2 feet apart
One side of people tosses the egg to their partner
When all have tossed their egg, each person takes a step backwards
The person now holding the egg tosses it back to their partner
All take another step backward
If someone’s egg breaks, they and their partner must leave the game
These steps continue until there is only one couple left with a solid egg

Hula Hoop Contest

What you’ll need
1 hula hoop for each person
Large open space
Patriotic music

Instructions:
Hand each person a hula hoop
Start the music
Each person must keep their hula hoop spinning, if the hoop hits the ground, the person must leave the game.
The last person to have his/her hula hoop spinning wins!

3 Legged Race

What you’ll need:
1 piece of rope for every two people
Open space for running
Red, white or blue streamer

Directions:
Each person picks and stands next to their partner
Tie rope around one person’s right leg and one person’s left leg, binding them together
Line each pair up at one end of the yard
Have two people hold red, white and blue streamers across the finish line
Each pair races to the finish line; the first one to break through the streamers, wins!
