How to Play the Dreidel Game! |
Players gather around the table, or sit in a circle on the floor. |
Each player is given 15 pieces of chocolate Hanukkah gelt. |
Each player puts one piece of gelt in the center. This area is called "the pot." |
Youngest player spins the dreidel first. |
When the dreidel stops, the Hebrew letter that is facing up determines what to do next! |
| If the dreidel lands on: |
Gimmel: Good spin! Take all of the gelt in the pot! |
Nun: Oh no! No gelt for you! |
Hey: Hoorah! Take half of the gelt in the pot! |
Shin: Shoot! Put one piece of gelt in the pot. |
When only one piece of gelt remains in the pot, each player adds one more piece. |
Play continues until one player has all of the gelt! |
