A blue kit with butterflies
Make Your Own Mini-Kite
Sunny summer days are the perfect time to fly a kite! This project is perfect to do alone, with a friend, or even at a party! Follow these easy steps and you can make your own mini-kite using popsicle sticks and tissue paper. Don't forget to decorate it with fun supplies from iParty!
Steps:
Create a diamond shape using four popsicle sticks. Overlap the ends of the sticks and glue them together. Allow the glue to dry. (Adding more popsicle sticks to the frame can make bigger kites.)

Place the popsicle stick diamond on a piece of tissue paper and trace it with a pencil.

Decorate the tissue paper diamond with crayons, stickers, or glitter and cut it out.

Put a few drops of glue around the edge of the popsicle stick diamond and place the tissue paper on top. Allow the glue to dry.

To make the tail cut a length of yarn or ribbon and staple it to the bottom of the kite.

Bring your mini kite outside and watch it fly!

You will need the following items for this project:
4 popsicle sticks
Glue
Tissue Paper
Pencil
Scissors *
Yarn or Ribbon
Stapler
Glitter, stickers, or other decorating supplies

* Young children should use child-safe scissors.
