Recipe for a Valentine Want something different from the standard classroom Valentine cards? Get creative this year with a Valentine’s Day craft that is a FUN activity for you and your child and makes a unique classroom gift for your child’s pals. |
Steps: |
Using the hole punch, put a hole at the top of each cardboard heart. With your marker, write on each heart “I Dig You!” Decorate the heart with Valentine’s stickers. |
Take a plastic shovel and fill the scoop with candy hearts or other FUN Valentine’s candy. Wrap the shovel with a pre-cut section of cellophane and gather at the base of the shovel’s handle. |
Cut a 10” section of ribbon and tie securely around the cellophane at the base of the shovel’s handle. Make sure the scoop is wrapped snugly when you tie the ribbon so that the cellophane holds the candy in place. |
Variations:
Who says only pink and red are appropriate for Valentine’s Day? Get creative with different colored shovels, cellophane and ribbon. Instead of candy hearts, use jellybeans, gummy bears or small chocolates. If your child’s school only allows wrapped treats to be handed out, substitute wrapped candies or bubble gum. |
