Indian headband

Native American Headband

This easy to make Native American Headband is a great craft for the Thanksgiving holiday! It is also a FUN Thanksgiving project for the classroom. Making a Native American Headband is a quick and simple project that will get kids in the Thanksgiving mood, while getting them excited to learn the history behind the holiday. Kids can get creative and make their own headbands while you are preparing the Thanksgiving feast. Wearing their Native American Headbands, they'll fit right in with the pilgrims and turkey at the Thanksgiving dinner!

Steps:

Cut the brown construction paper about 2 inches wide.

Wrap around so both ends meet on the construction paper. Secure with a small dab of glue. (If you do not have 10 x 13 size, use two pieces and glue together)

On the side of the band cut a small slit in the paper to stick the feathers (*you can also cut feathers out of construction paper if you do not have feathers available.)

Using colors of your choice stick feathers into slit. (It will work best if you use two feathers, one bigger and one smaller. Use whichever colors the child enjoys.)

On the inside of the band use a small piece of tape to secure the feathers.

Wear these festive Native American Headbands outfitted with your favorite colors.
